ICCFA and NGL collaborate to answer questions facing death care industry

National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL) is pleased to announce a new collaborative project with the International Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association (ICCFA), called Take 5. Cameron Black, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at NGL and Poul Lemasters, Esq., General Counsel at ICCFA share their take on topics that are top-of-mind for individuals in the death care profession.

Although they could not be together in person to share their thoughts due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they created five easy-to-fit into your schedule video chats. Each video varies in topic and length with discussions lasting around five to 10 minutes.

“This year, the way we communicate and engage with each other has evolved dramatically. Being in an industry that is so personal and emotional, we’ve had to pivot how we interact with families and our industry peers in order to create meaningful connections. Our Take 5 collaboration with ICCFA provides an opportunity for Poul and I to discuss some of the industry trends we are seeing. NGL is excited to partner with ICCFA because it’s a well-known leader in the industry for providing exceptional education and support to cemetery, funeral and cremation professionals throughout the world,” Black said.

A new video will be released every other Monday to help motivate and inspire viewers as they start the week. Video topics are:

  • How has the pandemic propelled the profession to rethink the sales process especially the typical in-person meetings/interactions?
  • How has consumer sentiment changed regarding preneed and death care as a result of the pandemic?
  • What are some of the unintended benefits that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light?
  • How has our sense of community both within the death care profession and within our local areas improved due to the coronavirus?
  • What lessons from 2020 can we take into 2021 that will impact how we run our businesses?

"We at the ICCFA are very excited to have collaborated on this project with NGL. The pandemic has caused so many changes and challenges, but Cameron and Poul's discussions really focused on what we can learn and gain from this experience. We hope that their thoughts and insights will be a real benefit to the death care community," said Tim Hutchison, Marketing & Communications Director at ICCFA.
