NGL announces new collaboration with Ancestry

New website remembers and celebrates lives

National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL) announced its new product collaboration with Ancestry at the 2018 National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) International Convention. In conjunction with Ancestry, NGL is offering We Remember pages as a way for family and friends to celebrate loved ones by gathering memories in one dedicated place.

We Remember is a free webpage that NGL partner funeral homes can offer the families they serve. Each funeral home is able to personalize the We Remember page with their branding and contact information.

 “We wanted to create a page that is easy for funeral homes to set up and meaningful for families,” said Jessica Grann, Assistant Vice President & Director of Corporate Communications at NGL. “Our hope is that funeral homes will develop a deeper connection with families and maintain the relationship from their initial meeting to long after the service.”

A unique quality about We Remember is that it can be used for both preneed and at-need families. All families who are preplanning a funeral will receive an email to confirm the We Remember page. Once they complete the confirmation, they can begin adding stories and photos about their loved one and share the page with others to add their own memories. If the individual is preplanning, they can add their own stories about their life and comment on what their loved ones are saying.

“Creating and sharing a We Remember page before the person passes away is a gift to not only the family, but for the individual to connect with their loved ones. I think we have all had the experience after a funeral or celebration of life where someone says how much the deceased would have enjoyed the stories. Creating a We Remember page following a preneed visit will accomplish just that,” said Grann.

Families control the privacy settings and content on their We Remember page. The page is easy to share with others and guests can post memories, as well as like and comment on memories. During this entire time, the funeral home’s branding is in front of everyone who visits the page, helping to establish brand awareness.
