Madison, Wis. (August 19, 2026) – NGL Insurance Company (NGL) recognized four team members with G.R.I.T. Awards during its companywide July All Hands Meeting. The awards incorporate NGL’s vision for the future, Together for Tomorrow, into its team members’ daily professional lives. The peer nominations recognized and celebrated colleagues for their outstanding achievements and performance.
The awards highlight the winning mindsets that need to be demonstrated for everyone to deliver and successfully achieve NGL’s goals and vision.
There are four distinct categories for the G.R.I.T. Awards:
Growth and Personal Development Award – Katie Dorband, Senior Payment Specialist
The recipient of this award sets clear professional and personal growth objectives. They hold themselves accountable for their own growth and NGL accountable for support. The individual also embraces courageous conversations and chooses to stay resilient through challenges.
Katie was nominated for the Growth and Personal Development Award by a colleague who shared, “Katie is an excellent example of someone who shows professionalism at NGL. From her emails and chats to notes on policies and documents to her great explanations in audit feedback. She is friendly, clear, and very informative. She continues to grow every day in her knowledge and skills. She is resilient through any challenges she comes across and pushes herself to master any task handed to her. She strives to meet her goals and always accomplishes them.”
Resilience and Accountability Award – Lois Endres-Tankersley, Assistant Vice President, Policy Operations
This award recipient is resilient and perseveres. They believe in holding themselves and others accountable for actions and outcomes. Commitment to results and follow-through is a basis of their work ethic.
Lois was awarded the Resilience and Accountability Award. One nominator stated: “Since October, Lois has stepped into the role of primary business decision maker for our technology initiative and has consistently demonstrated perseverance, ownership, and a strong commitment to results. In this short time frame, Lois has made over 300 business decisions, many of them complex and high‑impact. She consistently challenges teams to think beyond ‘how we’ve always done it,’ and encourages a mindset of responsible change, doing what is needed to deliver value while staying aligned with program constraints. Lois’s resilience in the face of constant decision‑making, shifting scope, and tight timelines has been essential.”
Initiative, Drive and Execution Award – John Domingo, Principal Software Developer
This award is for the NGL team member who takes initiative with a bias for effective action. They ask for help when needed and look beyond daily tasks to effectively execute plans.
John received a nomination for the Initiative, Drive and Execution Award, explaining that “John is the kind of senior lead developer every team hopes to have. His technical leadership and dependability are foundational to our team's success. He has a deep understanding of our systems, but what truly sets him apart is the relentless commitment he brings to quality and thoughtful problem solving. Despite having his attention pulled in multiple directions every day, John demonstrates exceptional follow-through and ownership. John is the definition of dependable - not in the sense of being predictably competent, but in the sense of being consistently excellent. He raises the standard for everyone around him, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.”
Trust in Each Other Award – Deanna Young, Senior Customer Solutions Specialist
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated trust in themselves, peers and leaders. They empower others, is empowered and delegates, as well as fosters open communication by giving and receiving constructive feedback. Collaboration within and across teams is paramount to their work.
A person nominating Deanna wrote: “Deanna is a steady, reliable backbone of the Preneed Customer Service team and consistently demonstrates what it means to support and uplift those around her. She willingly shares her knowledge and experience with teammates, ensuring everyone has the resources and confidence needed to succeed. Her approachable nature and willingness to assist make her a trusted resource for the entire team. Deanna leads through her actions, consistently demonstrating that success is achieved together. Her unwavering commitment to her teammates and customers makes her exceptionally deserving of this recognition.”
